Westminster Bookstore, my primary source for Christian print, has a great deal on the Pillar NT Commentary series. This is a tremendous resource for pastors, teachers, and serious Bible students who want to understand the Scriptures. While preparing sermons on the Gospel of John, when it was time to run a commentary check on my interpretation, D. A. Carson’s volume in this series was consistently the first one I read.
As for the rest of the series, Craig Blomberg affirms, “The Pillar New Testament Commentary series has already distinguished itself as the finest up-to-date, mid-range commentary series available today, with virtually every volume produced thus far of exceptional quality.”
You can buy the whole fourteen-volume set at 50% off, a total price of $341, nearly $100 less than Amazon.
Can’t buy the whole set? The Romans volume is also available at half-price ($31.20). If you want the others, you can get an extra 10% off for each additional volume you purchase.
Rather have the set in electronic form? Buy it through Logos. The same set is available for just under $500, and you can read it on your computer, your mobile device, or through a web browser at http://www.biblia.com.
It really is worth it.
Do you prefer your commentaries in print form or electronic form?
Electronic, especially within Logos. I have commentaries for Kindle, etc., but the integration with my Bibles makes Logos preferable. And it saves shelf space. =)
