Gospel-Driven Tornado Relief

The images have left us all speechless. The mile-wide tornado that ripped through Moore, Oklahoma yesterday brought untold loss of life and property.

And we all want to help.

Certainly giving to organizations like the American Red Cross is worthy and valuable. But if there is a way to give to a more gospel-centered ministry, say, a local church, it’s doubly useful. Not only can believers be the arms of Christ showing mercy to the needy, they can speak the gospel of Christ who rescues the needy from the greatest of all enemies.

Love and Justice Church is an Acts29 church plant in Moore. I spoke this morning with a member of the church, who informed me that they have set up an online giving portal that will go directly to tornado relief.

She also mentioned that the pastor and his young family lost their house in the tornado, together with everything they own.

Let us pray for these brothers and sisters, and for all in Moore and the Oklahoma City area, that God would have mercy on them in the coming days.

Pastor Samaritans Purse is a very good Ministry to give to also. Each time there is a tragedy they are there. http://www.samaritanspurse.org/article/oklahoma-tornado-response/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=_YGOT-013V_GglSPOT&gclid=CJ7vsILep7cCFUxp7AodYWwAfQ In His Love, Peter
