This Weekend at First (1/16/15)

Here’s a preview of what God has in store for us this weekend at First.

Sunday school

The men continue their study in the gospel of Mark in the library, while the ladies meet to consider Philippians 3 in Gano Chapel. Be here around 9.30am and join the conversation around God’s Word.

Sunday worship service

The congregational songs this week are as follows. (If you don’t know a song, click its title and you’ll be taken to a video or audio rendition.)

The sermon text will be Isaiah 10.5–34.

Monthly Fellowship Meal

Please join us for our monthly luncheon in the chapel immediately after the service. There is no charge, so please come and share the mercy of Christ with one another. During the meal, the deacons will introduce those who wish to become members of our church. Praise God for His work!

If You Could Ask God One Question

Next Friday, January 23 is the next discussion for all who are curious, questioning, or skeptical of the Christian message. The topic is “Don’t all good people go to heaven?” Join us at 7pm here at First. Christians may attend if they bring a non-Christian guest.

Annual Congregational Meeting

The annual congregational meeting is Sunday, January 25 at 12.45pm. Members will elect officers, approve the 2015 budget, and receive reports on a number of important items. Please make your plans to be there.

Volunteer Needs

The church office needs some help updating our electronic records. Please contact Matthew or Gordon for more information.

Geneva Conservatory of Music Benefit Concert

Geneva Conservatory of Music meets here two afternoons a week. The professional faculty has offered to present a fund-raising concert for the boiler fund with a portion of the proceeds shared with Geneva School. Mark your calendars for 6pm on Saturday, January 31.

Let us pray that the Spirit will fall on us as we gather to worship our Lord Jesus—to the glory of God the Father!
