Happy Super Pi Day!
Here’s a look ahead at what God has in store for us here at First:
Tonight: Spring Benefit Concert
Tonight at 7pm we will host a concert to benefit the boiler project. Dr. Linda Marcel, a colleague of Gordon Scott, has assembled a talented array of musicians to perform classical and modern-classical selections for the enjoyment of our people and neighborhood. This is a great concert, so don’t let the rain deter you!
Mourning with those who mourn
Please remember our brother and fellow member, Brian R., whose grandfather passed away this week. He is in Pennsylvania with family as they grieve together. We praise God that his grandfather was a believer and has entered into the presence of His Savior, but we also mourn with Brian over his loss. Please remember him in your prayers.
The ladies Bible study will start a series on James led by Elsie Cadet-Grieg, while the men continue their look at Mark’s gospel. Children’s classes are available. Join us Sunday at 9.30am.
Sunday Worship Service
Here’s a look ahead at the songs we plan to sing Sunday morning.
- “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name“
- “I Sing the Mighty Power of God“
- “What Wondrous Love is This“
- “My Worth is Not in What I Own“
- “Wonderful, Merciful Savior“
- “To the Praise of His Glorious Grace“
The sermon text will be Isaiah 22.
Be sure to note all the events coming up for Holy Week that are listed on the Calendar. From Palm Sunday to the Resurrection with Maundy Thursday and Good Friday in between, it will be a full week celebrating the death and resurrection of our Lord. Make your plans to be there!
Easter Offering—and a Pleasant Surprise!
This year’s Easter Offering will benefit the boiler fund. We’re about $50,000 away from being able to sign a contract and stop paying the $2,600 each week for the temporary boiler.
With that in mind, another church has made a very generous gesture to our church: they have given us a $25,000 matching gift. That means if we can raise $25,000 by April 15, they’ll match it for a total of $50,000! God be praised for their extraordinary generosity! So let us pray fervently and give generously to meet this goal.
Baptism and New Members Class
Want to know more about baptism? Considering becoming a member of our church? Classes for both baptism and membership will be offered soon. Please contact Matthew or Gordon if interested.
See you tomorrow!
