This Weekend at First (8/28/15)

We’re looking forward to worshiping our great Christ again this Sunday! Here’s some information to let you know what’s coming.

Sunday worship

Here are the songs we plan to sing Sunday morning:

The sermon text will be Matthew 16.13–28.

Hospitality Team meeting

Do you want to serve the church by providing refreshments, helping with luncheons, brewing coffee, or picking up free pastries? There will be a meeting of the Hospitality Team after Sunday worship, both this week and next. Please talk to Irma G. for details.

Dinner with Odir & Cynthia (T.) B.

Our missionary to Brazil, Cynthia T., got married this summer to Odir B.! They will be here this week for a little R&R before they return home to Brazil. All are welcome to join them for dinner Wednesday night at 6pm. RSVP to me by Tuesday.

Interested in Membership?

Our next New Members class begins in a few weeks. We’ll do a Friday night session as well as teach the class over consecutive Sundays. Contact Nick P. or Richard D. for more info.

Children’s Workers Needed

The Children’s ministry is looking to set up a rotation of children’s workers. Please contact Caleb K. for more information.

Interested in Helping Lead Worship?

Steve M. is putting together a team of people to help lead our worship services, and this is not just for musicians. We’re looking for those who are interested in reading Scripture or leading public prayers as well. If you’d like more information, please talk with Steve.

See you Sunday!
