We hope you’re doing well and enjoying the rich grace of our Savior today!
Here’s a look ahead to what we’re planning here at First:
What to Bring with You This Sunday
We’re collecting for needy children around the globe, and this Sunday is Play & Discover Sunday. Bring toys, cars, balls, dolls, flashlights with batteries—anything to make a child smile! Contact Donna if you have any questions.
Schedule for Sunday
9.45am — Sunday school
This includes classes for children, teenagers, and the combined adult study looking at Our Theological Vision.
10.40am — pre-service prayer time
11am — Sunday worship service
Here are the songs we plan to sing:“Rejoice! The Lord is King”
“I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say” (listen to it here)
“Arise, My Soul, Arise”
“He is Jesus”
“He Will Hold Me Fast”
Remember: you can find the Spotify list of songs we’re singing this fall here.
Matthew’s sermon text will be Isaiah 43.22–44.23.
Rescheduled Congregational Meeting
Due to the lack of a quorum last Sunday, our quarterly congregational meeting has been rescheduled for Sunday, November 8, after the worship service. Please make your plans to attend.
Dinner & Service with Gregg Matte
Houston’s First Baptist Church has been a great partner with us in the gospel. Their pastor, Gregg Matte, will be here at the chapel this Wednesday night. We’ll enjoy dinner at 7pm, then Gregg will challenge us from God’s Word. Please sign up if you plan to attend.
There are two part-time employment opportunities here at First! One is an Administrative Assistant, which is a twenty-hour per week responsibility. The other is a Bookkeeper, which requires up to ten hours per week. Job descriptions are available in the chapel and at our website. Just go to firstnyc.org and click Mission.
New Interim Administrative Assistant
We have hired Daniel Koo to serve as our interim administrative assistant. His office hours will be Tuesday and Friday from 11am to 5pm and Wednesday from 9am to 5pm. His email address is info at firstnyc dot org.
We’ll offer a one-week class on baptism Sunday, November 8 for those who are interested. Contact Matthew for details.
Hope to see you this Sunday!
