The Suffering Servant Stricken

As we celebrate the Lord’s Table, we continue our reflection on the Fourth Servant Song, better known as Isaiah 53. Today we begin looking at the third stanza of the song (vv. 4–6), which draws a sharp contrast between two people: the he and the we. And in verse 4, we find that our interpretation of life in general—and of the Servant in particular—is often quite flawed.
