This Weekend at First (12/11/15)

Here’s a look ahead to a very busy weekend here at First!

Lessons and Carols
Lessons_and_CarolsPlease join us tomorrow night at 7pm as our Annual Christmas Concert. This year the musicians and choir will present Lessons and Carols. There is no charge, and a reception will follow. Make your plans to be there, and bring a friend, too! Let us pray that the Lord would bear fruit through this missional event.

What to bring Sunday
Thank you for your overwhelming response last Sunday to the call for help to put together a dozen crisis response bags. By God’s grace, people signed up for every available opening! To God be the glory! You may bring what you signed up for either this Sunday or next. If you forgot what you signed up for, please ask Daniel Koo.

Sunday worship
Here’s what we plan to sing together Sunday morning:

  • “Joy to the World”
  • “Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery”
  • “Fullness of Grace”
  • “What Child is This”
  • “Of the Father’s Love Begotten”
  • “In Christ Alone”

The sermon text will be Isaiah 48.

Christmas Luncheon
Stay with us after the Sunday morning service for our Christmas Luncheon in the Chapel. There is no charge to attend, and everyone is invited.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Offerings
This holiday season we are collecting our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas offerings. The first will go to pay for shipping the 400+ shoeboxes we packed for Operation Christmas Child. It costs $7 to ship each one. Anything that comes in excess of the needed shipping cost will go to our Missions Fund. The Christmas offering will go to the Boiler Fund. Thank you for your prayerful participation.

Looking forward to worshiping our all that the Sovereign Spirit will do in us and for us this weekend!
