Here’s what’s going on at First Baptist NYC this weekend and following!
Tomorrow (Saturday) at 6pm: Worship Team Vision Casting Dinner
If you would like to serve during our Sunday worship services, please make your plans to attend a dinner at the church tomorrow night. This includes people of a wide variety of interests: from instrumentalists, singers, and worship leaders, to audio-visual volunteers and setup/teardown crews. Please contact Steven Mann to RSVP.
Sunday at 9.45am: Sunday School
Sunday at 10.40am: Pre-service prayer meeting
Sunday at 11am: Sunday worship service
Here are the songs we plan to sing:
- “Come People of the Risen King”
- “Immortal, Invisible”
- “The Look”
- “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?”
- “The Power of the Cross”
- “And Can It Be?”
These songs and more can be found on our free Spotify playlist.
The sermon text will be Isaiah 53.6. We plan to celebrate the Lord’s Table as part of our worship.
Sunday during and after worship: Safe Families for Children
We will be joined in worship by representatives of Safe Families for Children, an initiative to serve needy parents in the city by providing emergency, temporary hospitality for at risk children. You’ll hear more about them during the worship service, then have the opportunity to ask questions after the service in the Chapel. Let’s pray that the Spirit would give us wisdom as we consider how we might have a part in this very important ministry.
Sunday, February 21 at 12.45pm: Annual Meeting Adjournment
The Annual Meeting will resume Sunday, February 21 at 12.45pm. When the meeting resumes, we will vote on more new members (yeah!!!), the 2016 budget, and a range of officers. These members are finishing their terms:
- Deacon: Winston J, Nick P
- Trustee: Elsie C, Wendy C, Jan R
- Clerk: Donna S
Coming soon: New Members Class
We are making plans for our next New Members Class. If you are interested in participating, please email Daniel Koo at email@example.com.
What’s your birthday?
Chrisanne Kusmarski is updating our database of members’ birthdays. Could you please help? Just look for her after the service to make sure that we have your correct information. And don’t worry—you don’t have to share your birth year.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
